Richard Lander School has a great ‘Bake Off’ tradition; we have some extremely talents bakers with a healthy competitive attitude!
2019 Round 1, saw students creating Children in Need themed cupcakes and Round 2 invited competitors to create a themed ‘showstopper’ cake! All entries were divided into taster portions with RLS students and staff paying 50p for three tasters and then voting on their favourite. Needless to say there were queues out of the door, with students very keen to get their share of delicious homemade cake! The winning cake was cake "G" which was a joint effort from Mia Ewart, Jess Holmes, Lauren Marples, Imogen Spurring and Maddie Willoughby. It included a waterfall of Smarties in the middle and a sculpted Pudsey on the top! Across the two rounds, our Bake Off students made £171 and got a mention on the Children in Need edition of Blue Peter! There is a short film of the Showstopper day on RLS Instagram and Facebook.
Well done to all the students who took part and put in hours of work and thank you to all the parents who sacrificed their kitchens!
