Year 10 Art trip to the annual Truro and Penwith College Art Exhibition
Before half term we arranged to take a group of Year 10 GCSE Art students into Truro to view the annual exhibition by Truro College art students. The exhibition was in Lemon Quay in a specially erected marquee. It was a great opportunity for our students to see a fantastically diverse range of work on display and also become better informed about post 16 Art and design courses.
The work had been selected from a range of courses that the college offer and it was really good to see such an interesting array of creative outcomes which gave our students lots of ideas. As students toured the exhibition they were encouraged to note down any pieces that were of particular interest to them and which course they were from.
Some students were also able to demonstrate their textiles skills and create a textile piece on the sewing machine supported by staff from the college
It was a great afternoon and a really good opportunity for students to see a really fantastic range of art work produced at post 16 level.
