For a number of years, William from Year 8 has been running his own business selling cookies, flapjacks and shortbread, along with soft drinks, at his roadside stall on the Portreath Devoran cylcle trail. So far this year he has made over £2000 which he has very kindly donated to the students in the ARB to put towards a residential trip. Residential trips for children with disabilities are very expensive due to the specialised equipment needed to give them the opportunity to try activities such as abseiling and horse riding. Last year Ark students went on their first ever school residential trip to the Calvert Trust and they enjoyed it immensely. Everyone is very keen to go again to try out the activities they didn’t manage to do last year.
William presented his cheque to Mrs Hooper and some of the students who will benefit from the trip and Shannon told him all about last year’s experiences.
Pictures show William presenting the cheque and students from the Ark at the Calvert Trust last year.
