Year 10 GCSE Art and Photography students recently had the opportunity to spend the day at the Eden project to compete work for their GCSE coursework portfolios. The Eden project is an ideal place for creative inspiration and ideas and also big enough to accommodate over 100 students!
On the day, art students were able to sketch and draw the range of brilliant natural forms that are grown at the Eden project and it was a good opportunity for them to record outside of the classroom. They were encouraged to find examples of the Fibonacci in nature. A good example of Maths meeting Art.
Photography students had a wealth of things to photograph and they were able to use the location to work on photographing images for a joiner in the style of David Hockney along with focusing on triptychs and the wonderful textures and details that appear in nature. The students will go on to use their work in lessons and present it in their sketchbooks as a record of the day.
