Added 6 months ago

On Thursday 23rd November, we welcomed the class of 2017 back to school to collect their GCSE certificates. The event was very well attended and it was fantastic to once again see our ex-students’ familiar faces.

The event is about celebrating everyone’s success and a number of special awards are also given out on the night. The highest achieving students were given Academic Special Awards for outstanding GCSE results.

Head Boy , Zak Minett, and Head Girl, Stella Thurlow, received Head Teacher’s awards in recognition of their outstanding commitment and contribution to the running of the school.

Reuben White was awarded the John Williams award. The John Williams Award is presented to a student whose achievement deserves special recognition.

Lottie Shipp was awarded the Arthur Herbert Award which is presented to a student who has excelled in Science. It was donated in remembrance of Arthur Herbert, a former Head of Science at Richard Lander School.

Zak Minett was awarded The Oliver Beckerlegge Award, which is given by Dr Honor Aldred, programme manager for French at the University of Leeds, in memory of her father Oliver Beckerlegge.

We wish all of the Class of 2017 the very best for their futures.
