U15 Girls Hockey Tournament at Liskeard

Added 6 months ago

On Wednesday 13th February, our U15 girls hockey team travelled to Liskeard to play in the East section of the county tournament, knowing that a win or runners up spot would see them through to either the county cup or plate final in March.
First up was Truro High and this was always going to be our toughest match.  Our girls really played well and had several chances to score but just couldn't quite manage it. The final score was a 2-0 loss, but spirits were high as we had played so well.  Penrice were next and despite wave after wave of attacks, we still couldn't score!  Penrice then very much against the flow of the game, took the ball from their own half all the way into ours and scored.  We were shocked into action and managed to get an equalizer but no win.  Newquay Tretherras defended well against Lander but we did come away with a 1-0 win.  The last game was the decider for second place in our group and Liskeard were a very competitive opposition.  Passions flared at times, but Lander stuck to their task and eventually scored a fantastic goal.
Congratulations to all the team who are now through to the county plate final on Wednesday 27th March at Penair.
