RLS Gymnasts—Silver medals for our mixed team at the Nationals!

Added 3 years ago

Congratulations to all the Richard Lander School gymnasts who travelled up to Stoke on Trent for the British Schools Gymnastics Association National Finals, along with Mrs Hurworth and Miss Ure, on 15th/16th March.
Having stood for the national anthem, our boys team of Dan, Arthur and Oliver competed first. They vaulted brilliantly with Ollie scoring his best vault score ever—14.7/16. They then went on to complete a secure floor performance and finished a very respectable 7th overall.

On day 2, our mixed team of Callum, Liv and Ella stepped up. They all put in superb performances with Ella getting the joint second highest score on the vault and Olivia getting the 4th best score on the floor routine. After a tense wait the final results were confirmed. RLS gymnasts, representing the South West at the Nationals, along with a team from Devon, had come second in the mixed event! Proudly sporting silver medals, our star gymnasts made the long, excited journey home to Cornwall!

Well done to Dan Tremayne, Arthur Randell, Oliver Tomlinson, Callum Peasley, Liv Miles & Ella Fern!
