Young Chef Competition
Report by Megan Price (Y8) for Richard Lander Press Pack
On Tuesday 13th November the Young Chef competition took place at Richard Lander School. Overall, 16 people took part in cooking a starter, main meal and desert. They had 2 hours of cooking –including preparation- to make a meal that could win.
I asked Libby Simmons what she made of the day. “I made salmon pods, bacon and tomato pasta with meatballs and profiteroles for dessert. I enjoyed the experience and I met Ben Arthur who was one of the original 15! For taking part in the competition I got a certificate, some chocolate and a cook book. I think I did well but the people who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd did even better.”
Well done to the people who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
-Amy Rand (Year 9)-1st place
-Claudia Moore (Year 9)-2nd place
-Saffron Blake (Year 9)-3rd place

Thanks to the Rotary for their support. They supplied us with excellent judges including Ben Arthur from 15 and Rob Duncan - Head Chef at Indaba Restaurant.
And well done to everyone who took part and enjoyed it.
