Year 7 Hockey Festival Report

Added 6 years ago

On Wednesday 13th November, RLS entered the Year7 Hockey Festival at Truro School.  After a very difficult selection process, 13 girls were chosen to play.  For most of the girls it was their first experience of competitive hockey so nerves were running high.

Our first game was against Helston School  which we won convincingly, 2-0. Next, we were up against Truro School which we knew would be a tough match, however our defence was strong and kept the score to a 0-0 draw. Our third match was against Penair and this proved a frustrating game, as we had the majority of possession but just could not score. Penair managed to get a successful shot on goal, meaning this game resulted in a 1-0 defeat.  Finally we played Penryn , where we again had lots of shots on goal but never managed to score so, at the final whistle the score was a draw 0-0.

I would like to say congratulations to Alana Bower-Tremayne, Maddy Harris, Emmie Penhaligon, Alana Robinson, Molly Short, Kayleigh Wells, Jade Beech, Meg Beynon, Jessica Georgelin, Delphi Harris, Amelia Ireland, Skye Jackson and Jess Oddy.  All the girls gave tremendous effort and worked together as a team to support each other.
