Year 7 Netball Report 2013/2014

Added 3 yearss ago

Mairead Dolan reports on the Year 7 netball season during 2013/2014. The girls are now in Year 8 and we look forward to watching them this term.

County Champions!

On Thursday 20th March, the Year 7 Netball team travelled to Camborne School to play an all-day county tournament.  Most the secondary schools in Cornwall took part so there was very stiff competition.  All of the teams were split into groups with four teams in each group.

After winning all of our group matches Richard Lander then proceeded through to the final.  All the schools that won their groups played each other to find the winner.  We easily won our first match then came up against our hardest rivals yet; Truro school.  Both teams were evenly matched and we came out with a draw.  Another hard match followed as we played Truro High.  All the girls worked tirelessly to produce an amazing 5-0 win.  With only one match left to play the rain really started and the tournament had to be cut short.  After a checking of the scores Richard Lander was named Year 7 County Netball Champions!Well done to: Mairead Dolan, Jess Oddy, Nell Dart, Jade Beech, Delphi Harries, Megan Beynon, Amelia Elliott, Skye Jackson and Amelia Ireland.

Cornwall Satellite Netball Academy
On the 8th May was the start of the Satellite Netball Screening.  Seven students from Year 7 were selected to trial and after a 2 day gruelling process 5 students were selected.  I would like to congratulate Mairead Dolan, Jess Oddy, Jade Beech, Delphi Harries and Megan Beynon.
