Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Brings Brass Back to Cornwall.

Added 2 yearss ago

Report by Karis Cracknell and Freya Cooper (Year 8)

On Wednesday 22nd April the brass players at Richard Lander went to a workshop at Roseland Community College. The workshop was run by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The BSO, in collaboration with the Cornwall Music Hub are going to visit more than twenty locations across Cornwall, from Tuesday 21st to Saturday the 25th April and 60 professional musicians will deliver an exciting programme of activities at each of these.
To start off we listened to the brass section of the orchestra play a variety of pieces. Then we went on to learn two pieces of music, `The Bare Necessities’ and` I’ve got my eye on you’ (The Pirates of the Caribbean theme tune) which we then performed to a year 8 music class at Roseland. It was a great success. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the professional musicians and other students from across Cornwall.
Thank you very much to Miss Polley for inviting us to Roseland School and to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra!
