This week saw the arrival of the first written GCSE exams, with students sitting their English iGCSE on Tuesday. To give students ideas on how to cope with exam stress, Mrs Knight organised a Stress Less Fest which included a healthy breakfast and ‘Wake and Shake’ with Mr Holloway on Tuesday, Zumba and ‘Big Bang Theory’ on Wednesday, an adult size bouncy castle and Gladiator ring on Thursday and a petting zoo today. All activities were free and, as raffle entries were given for every activity a student took part in, the more you participated the greater chance you had of winning a prize. All prizes have been donated by local businesses and include a cream tea for 2 at the Penventon Hotel, lunch for 2 at the Penventon Hotel, things to grow and things to cuddly from Patch and Acre (Cornwall Farmers), novels from Waterstones, bread and pastries from Baker Tom, an ‘Inspirational Nail’ treatment, and a massage or ‘cut and blow dry’ at Calmante, Truro. Mrs Knight will draw the raffle next week. Year 11 evidently enjoyed the event as you can see from these photos.
