The Cousin Jacks were asked to perform at the biennial Cornwall International Male Choir Festival and made many friends in a packed Hall for Cornwall with their outrageous routines (including James Pearn’s acrobatic display). This year the Festival decided to concentrate on youth singing and provided boy’s choirs from Cornwall and around the world with a weekend of singing seminars and fun activities. Everything, including food was paid for by the festival.
On the Saturday we all went to ‘Nine Ashes’ near Bodmin for a day of archery, abseiling, zip-wire, assault course and other strenuous activities, ending with songs around a huge and smoky fire which often blinded us. It was great fun standing for 8 hours in the rain while our lads enjoyed themselves. The weekend was a marvellous time for team building and their performance on the Sunday night brought the audience to their feet.
