Added 3 years ago

On Thursday 26th November,  the students who left at the end of the summer term returned to school to be presented with their GCSE exam certificates.  The event was very well attended and it was fantastic to once again see our ex-students familiar, if surprisingly grown up, faces.

The event is about celebrating everyone’s success and a number of special awards are also given out on the night.

Head Boy - Cameron Sykes and Head Girl - Georgia Doyle Lay received Head Teacher’s awards in recognition of their outstanding commitment and contribution to the running of the school.

Chloe Dillow was awarded the John Williams award. The John Williams Award is presented to a student whose achievement deserves special recognition.

Miguel Richmond was awarded the Arthur Herbert Award which is presented to a student who has excelled in Science. It was donated in remembrance of Arthur Herbert, a former Head of Science at Richard Lander School.

Holly Marshall was awarded The Oliver Beckerlegge Bursary, which is given by Dr Honor Aldred, programme manager for French at the University of Leeds, in memory of her father Oliver Beckerlegge.

28 students were given Academic Special Awards for outstanding GCSE results. These were Tyler Arnold, Toby Blanks, Joseph Boyd, Olivia Byass Smithies, Eleanor Coleman, Megan Dickinson, Stanley Flynn, Charlotte Fuller, Lauren Gibson, Molly Grady, Florence Haddrell, Oona Hinshelwood, Megan Irwin, Georgiana Jefferies, Joseph Kinney, Harry Lombard, Verity Matthews, Eva McDermott, Wint-Wah Naing, Alastair Paddock, Bethany Pascoe, Miguel Richmond, Caitlin Roach, Jordan Robins, Kelsi Russell, Charles Secombe, Cameron Sykes and Jessica Wright.

We wish all of the Class of 2015 the very best for their futures.
