Japanese Club took a whistle-stop tour of Japan last week! Whilst eating miso soup, tofu and seaweed we enjoyed watching a lonely planet episode that took us to some inspirational places.
Of particular interest was the hot sand at Ibusuki in Kagoshima where you get buried up to your neck! I can vouch for the heat – I’ve been there! Also, the beautiful Sakurajima (which translates to cherry blossom island) which is still an active volcano. Finally, the very last island in the far south of Japan – Iriomote in Okinawa. This is one of the few places that you can escape from the hustle and bustle of Japanese life. We looked for the wild cat but he proved too elusive!
Mata ne! Until next time.
