The last day at Richard Lander School is always an occasion to remember for Year 11 students. It's a day which journeys from childhood to sophisticated adulthood. In the morning students arrive at school in fancy dress to say goodbye to the staff and students in the other year groups and to attend a leavers assembly full of RLS memories. The effort students have gone to in terms of creative costumes in past years has been nothing short of amazing, with snails on skateboards, congregations of nuns, Telly Tubbies, superheroes and pirates walking the school corridors to the entertainment of the whole Richard Lander community. Students enjoy a breakfast or BBQ, a bouncy castle, a sumo wrestling arena in the main hall... and then buses arrive just before lunchtime to collect Year 11 for the last time and take them home to be transformed! In the early evening, they arrive at the Penventon Hotel or The Falmouth Hotel for their Leavers Ball as stylish young adults, dressed in all their finery, to enjoy a three course meal and a disco.
