Richard Lander School staff have really enjoyed welcoming the Class of 2023 back to school today to collect their GCSE and Non-GCSE results.

Many of our students have achieved outstanding results with Head Student, Lauren and Dan taking home 10 and 11 A/A* equivalent GCSE each and many of the students pictured achieving 9 or more GCSEs at Grades 7, 8 or 9. Other students are delighted to have achieved what they need to move onto the next exciting chapter of their education.

Staff have enjoyed seeing the happy, relieved faces and Mrs Datson has celebrated her last ever results day after over 35 years of teaching at Richard Lander School – She is pictured here with Noah, one of her favourite Chemistry students and his parents – all of whom she has taught!

Well done to all our Class of 2023 students who strived to ‘be the best they could be’ despite the huge disruption they experienced during their Key Stage 3 years! Huge congratulations to all of the students pictured here, and many others, who achieved exceptionally good results.

Mrs J. Griffiths – Deputy Headteacher said:

‘Congratulations to all our Year 11 students who have worked really hard over the last two years and who should be rightfully proud of their excellent GCSE results.   The attitude and commitment to their studies was exceptional and we wish them all the very best for the future.

We are particularly proud that more than 20% of our students gained 5 or more 9-7 grades – equivalent to the old A/A* grade.

Additionally, we should also pay tribute to the commitment of both the staff team, our parent body and governing body, without whose support these results could not have been achieved.’
