Dear Parent/Carer,

The school is monitoring the current weather forecast which suggests sleet and snow over higher ground in Devon and Cornwall overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.  The Met Office weather advice for our area currently suggests the following:

What should I expect?

  • A small chance that untreated pavements and cycle paths become impassable
  • There is a slight chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times
  • A small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • A slight chance that power cuts occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage

The school is not currently anticipating issues with transport however, we will continue to monitor the weather conditions.  You can find any changes to the schools plans on our social media and on the Cornwall Council website:

With the potential for inclement weather going forward, we would strongly advise parents to complete our school form to confirm consent for your child being released to go home in the event of a school closure. This does allow students to leave school on buses, or be released to walk home in the event of a school closure.
