[30/06/2025] Update

We plan to open to all year groups on Wednesday 2nd July.

The Year 10 college trip on Thursday has been cancelled.

Currently, the IT systems in the canteen are not functioning, which is causing some queuing. It would be helpful if as many students as possible could bring packed lunches for the remainder of the term.

The phone line to main reception has now been restored.

[27/06/2025] School Closure

We have been made aware of a potential cybersecurity issue affecting IT systems at Richard Lander School. An investigation is ongoing but there is currently no evidence that personal data has been compromised. The Council is working closely with the school to ensure that we have the right support and expertise available to properly assess the situation. No further information is available at this time.

Currently, the cyber incident means the school has very limited access to the data which it holds. As a result, this could affect the ability of the school to function and to offer appropriate safeguarding to students. Therefore, having taken advice from the local authority, the school will be closed to all students on Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st July. The school will update parents on Tuesday, on social media, and the school website regarding plans for the rest of the week. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.
