Year 10 Art Trip to St Ives
Just before half term the Art department took 75 year ten students to St Ives to explore the new exhibition at the Tate Gallery titled ‘The near and the Far; St Ives and International work’ .
Mr Dove guided students around the exhibition reinvestigating the histories of the St Ives colony and addressing the relationship between locations and Identity.
Students also had the opportunity to explore the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens; sitting amongst the sculptures, drawing from first hand observation and taking in the wonderful St Ives atmosphere.
After having lunch in the harbour students spent time drawing the landscape and coastline, developing studies for their GCSE coursework which they will continue during their lessons in school.
