Cashless Catering and Chartwells’ Meal Price Increase

Just a reminder that from 4th January, the canteen will no longer be accepting cash at the till points and will operate solely on a cashless basis. Meals can be paid for using Parentpay or the students will be able to top up their meal account using the pay point (Reval) in the canteen using their biometric or pin. Free school meal (FSM) students will still need to use their pin or biometric at the till but will not be charged up to their daily allowance. If they wish to spend more than their daily allowance then their meal account can be topped up using Parent pay or by cash at the Reval.

We have been informed that the price of a set school meal will be increasing to £2.53 from 4th January 2023. The free school meal daily allowance will increase in line with this to £2.53.

You may be aware that you can set notifications on Parentpay to alert you when your child’s meal account balance is low by using the manage alerts function. You are able to set this to a level of your choice..

You can also see the balance of your child’s meal account and the meals taken by selecting transaction history on the home page, then balance history, select name of child, payment item (Chartwells school meals Richard lander) and the month. You will then see a list of balances and you can click on one to see what meals were taken. Student’s can check their balance in school using the Reval unit in the canteen.

If you have given your consent for your child to be registered with their biometric but they have not yet done so, if they wish to register then they can come to the school office to have this completed. The parental consent form can be found using this link https://forms.office.com/e/A5xk9SqcnS
